MUSHROOM SOCKS

There are about 90,000 species of mushrooms that exist in this planet. Though they don’t have chloroplasts, and can’t make their own food they do multiply from the sugar that is ingested from trees. On one hand mushrooms are parasitic causing plants or animals to die of diseases, but they can also help tree roots absorb water and nutrients that are usually difficult to absorb through the huge network of hyphae. Mushrooms can also support a tree in resisting wind, rains and floods. Mushrooms secrete enzymes to kill insects, feeding the tree with traces elements from their carcasses. Therefore, mushrooms are both decomposers and constituents.
